A notification on this forum goes as follows:
If you select: "Check this if you wish to be notified of replies to this topic." you will receive an email if anyone replies to the topic. There is also a button when viewing a topic displayed near the top and bottom of the pages that allows you to get a notification.

You will just receive an email saying that someone replied to the topic, and then a link to the topic.
