unwanted pictures
« on: March 08, 2007, 10:13:37 AM »
When I look in Display properties of the control panel, I find all sorts of pictures which I do not want in the "Wallpaper", How can I remove the ones I don't want?

What version of Windows ? ?
In Win2K and XP these will be in the WinNT folder . Unfortunately you will have to view them one at a time and delete the ones you don't want.

Go to the control panel to display.Click on desktop.
Click on browse, local drive (C: ) Double click on the
windows folder. All the way to the right you will find
mostly BMP files. If they are the ones you do not want
right click on them as you go and delete the ones you
don't want..Maybe this is what your asking.

The wallpapers that come with Windows XP are in C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper.

I believe this is correct.  It's consistent with my system.  And, I found it stated in another forum @ http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5604

I looked in  windows/web and the only ones in there are original windows XP pictures.......................The ones that I am talking about, are in my personal photograph files which are in My documents, these for some unknown reason have shown up in the wallpaper section of the display properties.

Back them up & delete them or rename them or relocate them.
When you check in properties they should be gone then you can put them back how they were.

I removed them to a disc from My documents, and they have gone from the display properties...........Now, how can I stop them transferring to the wall papers when I down load from my camera.

I guess the real question is............."How do I stop pictures being transferred into the display properties when downloading from my camera", instead of just going into my documents / my pictures. I am using Kodak easyshare.
