Try re-installing it using the steps outlined...it's possible something might have been overlooked. Un-install the device in Device Manager first and remove any software that pertains to it in Add/Remove Programs.
After this re-boot and continue on.

computer .......when you installed the driver, did it ask you to plug the camera in ?
Are you plugging the webCam into a USB1.10 or USB2 port ?
Does the Cam show up in the device manager when it's plugged in ?

If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.

I plugged it into a USB2 port, and not sure about the device manager....What section would it come up under if it is installed??? other devices/video controller???

anyway, i'm trying it in another computer now, to see if the problem is the computer or if it is something to do with the drivers ;)

when i followed the same steps with the other computer, i come up with an error message at the end of the installation phase, reading...

There was a problem installing this hardware:

    USB Device

An error occured during the installation of the device

The class installer has denied the request to install or
    upgrade this device.

Click Finish to close the wizard.

does anybody have any idea what to do in that sort of situation? last computer i didn't even get that far, but i still want the rest of it there obviously. i need help  :'(

Contact the manufacturer...ask if they have written new drivers.

You might be ahead to get a proper web cam, hopefully with a recognizable brand and possibly even some support for it. This appears a fruitless endeavor.

    ....meanwhile, 5 days later.....

Well the manufacturer is in Singapore somewhere, we are in Perth, Australia. apart from driving over there or phone, what other options are there???
sorry, i am kind of stupid right now, aren't I?

But you told me to get that before we got this driver for it....
Then i decided to try this driver first....
But she not really that desperate that she would pay any $ for it i don't think
