Hiya everyone , hope you are all well.....

My uncle unfortunatley owns a packard bell imedia desktop pc , its about 4 year old i think , he is happy with dial up internet using a new intel 536 modem , trouble is , all of a sudden his com3 port is not recognising the modem , saying , "error 680 opening port" there is a click when he tries to dial up then a 5 second gap , another click then that error message pops up . Ive tried the following ....reinstalled , tried modem on my pc and its fine , i was wondering if anyone could be so good to give me advice in which i could repair this old machine for him lol or would it be possible to try and use a different com port? maybe com2? any advice will be gratefully received , regards , mark
