    Outlook Express issue
    « on: May 18, 2007, 02:23:56 PM »
Can't get a clients OE to send mail from remote location [local library with no encryption on wifi, butcan receive].  Tried changing outgoing port from 25 to 80 [had same issue with Thunderbird on my laptop & changed port and it worked] / made exception on firewall / turned off firewall / rebooted after making changes / problem still exists.  Tried to set up OE account on my laptop / SMTP server won't accept password.  Was able to use Arilion webmail to send / receive OK.  Airlion support suggested to change SMTP server in OE.  I disagreed because my Thunderbird worked once I changed the outgoing port to 80.

    Ideas?

You might try port 587.  It works with my Earthlink account.
