I'm the only user on my computer...
The only password I have to remember is my Windows login.
If the reader goes "belly-up", I can still log into Windows. From there, I can uninstall the software that came with the reader....thus disabling the reader.
If I were to allow anyone else to use the computer, the reader would work for them as well, however, the other users would be setup with Limited accounts...so there is no reason to program the reader in order to prevent anyone from changing its settings. They can't.
If it happens to take a dump...no problem...I still know my pasword and can bypass the reader at anytime by simply typing in the appropriate username and/or password.
I just replace the reader.
