Hi speed USB hub

I recently purchase a new ipod, but my PC only has 1.1 USB outlets. Would there be any speed adavantage in buying a 2.0 USB hub to plug in the existing PC USB outlet, or do I need to change some hardware in the PC to increase the transfer speed.

If your PC has USB 1.1 outlets, you are going to have USB 1.1 speeds, whatever hub you connect. You need to get a USB 2.0 PCI card and install it in your PC.

Hi . Thanks for the reply. I'm not very computer literate and the answer may have been obvious to most people but it just wanted to confirmed by someone with more technical knowledge than my self.

You are welcome. These cards do not cost very much. Chillblast in the UK sell a card with 3 external and 1 internal port for £11.74 including tax, about $23 US dollars, I daresay they come even cheaper if you search.
