if anyone here still knows me, after a long siesta ive decided to return to computer hope to help others with their computing problems. as to where i went between this post and my last, well, i went to the more "destructive" side of computing, only to find out that it is illegal, i also did not like where i was headed by doing that. so, im back, and i am actually surprised to find that my profile is still here ,  its also nice to still recognize a few of the people on this board still.

You install a piece of software on your computer, using what I assume is the same API that Windows Messenger uses to determine what Windows Media Player is playing, it collects the song title, artist, and whatever else you want. Then, it uploads that information to a server. The server then, within a few seconds, generates an image with that information in it. You put this image anywhere on the net as a hotlink, (eg: in your signature box in the IMG tag codes) and it displays in the browser of anyone who accesses the page. They can then see what you are listing to, or what suspicious videos you are watching
(notice how I didn't add a period to the end of that sentence)
