Setup File Error
« on: November 22, 2007, 04:20:15 AM »
Hi everyone!
This is my first post and yes, I have a problem :-\

The problem is, I'm trying to install some softwares from a DVD, but every setup file file on that DVD looks like that DXSETUP icon:

And whenever I double click on any setup file a DOS window opens for a second & the closes immediately & nothing else happens.

So I wanted to know if anything can be done or all those files are corrupted? Evey file other than setup files works normally. Copying the files into computer doesn't work.

Please let me know if anything can be done. Thanks!

Well, what exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to install a certain version of DirectX? The latest one? What are these files and where did you get them from?

Those look like .rar files to me...
The installer file may be corrupt also.

It may be helpful if you repost your screenshot, but with files listed in "Details" form, not icons.

    Also,

Tools > Folder Options > View > Remove the tick from 'Hide extensions for know file types'

I'd say that whatever you're trying to install isn't installed from this folder.
