Hi, running w98se with a recent new installation - ie5.5 worked fine with install from w98 disk, but when I upgraded to ie6 I get an error message that ie has encountered an error and needs to close down at any web site I try to open [such as this one] that requires a logon and pw. When I enter my name and pw up comes the error box and ie shuts down. It seems to have something to do with Visual Basic and msvcrt.dll. I don't have VB installed and I have tried downloading and installing the dll file in ie without result. I have also downloaded and re-installed ie 6 and also service pack 1 for ie6 without result. Strangely enough logon to encripted sites such as my Bank and Mastercard works fine!
I downloaded Firefox to post this cry for help as I cannot log on with IE.
