Floppy drive problem after Win98 reinstall
« on: January 30, 2008, 01:07:18 PM »
I just reinstalled Win98 on a formatted disk. All went well except my "A" floppy drive does not work. "My Computer" shows an A and B drive. I found that the B floppy works. My BIOS shows only an A drive installed.
How do I get my A drive back?

Did you remember to re-install the MBoard drivers ? ?
What happens when you try the floppy drive ?
Any error messages involved ? ?

Drivers installed, Actually, screen freezes if I click on the A drive. The B drive, which I shouldn't have, works just fine.

A: and B: are standard on any machine...
Please restate what you have done and what is not working properly...
Some info on the machine in question would be helpful also...

Did you do something inside the case? It looks like power cord is not connected to your floppy.

If the power cord to it wasn't connected the machine wouldn't freeze when trying to use it...
Let's wait for more info.
