I have come across an old 800mhz Computer.  I have thought about making it into a file server for my house to store all of our important files on there as well as back them up to flash drive as well. the machine has two optical cd drives of which one of them is a burner.  I just need to put a power supply for it.  I might add one of my used hard drives to it.  What else do I need for this purpose??

Do you have a router?  Are you already networking two or more computers?  Does that computer have an operating system installed?  Does it have an onboard LAN port, or an NIC card installed?
