it requires a process to run in order to use the new cursor. the memory use for the process is determined by the complexity of the cursor you are using (ie. if it has alot of cool animations it will use more memory). i ended the process to see if it really needed it to run, ending the process made my cursor disappear. fortunately enough, i was able to navigate back to the program and re-enable my cursor.
