AVG is soon going from a free non-subscription program to a paid subscription program. Does anyone know of any good, free non-subscription programs?

AVG 7.5, and 8.0 are still free, and I'm not aware of any info of being discontinued. Free 8.0 just came out.

It won't be discontinued, just the updates and support. I've read it on the download page. I think it's at the end of this month.

Updates for 7.5 will be delivered until the end of this year. Updates for 8.0 indefinitely, since it's a new version.

Yes, but AVG 8 is a subscription service. It is not freeware, it is trialware for the first month.

No, it's not. Security suite is, but standalone antivirus is not.
