There seems to be no light for the keyboard.
I've looked through the manuals but can't find anything sugesting an on/off switch..etc

Could there possibly just not be a keyboard light for this model?
Maybe there is one but it's defective?
    Anyone help would be apprieciated.

      Windows Vista.
I assume it has some sort of lighting, but I've never owned a laptop before
and I imagine they all have some sort of lighting in the keyboard/keypad (like cellphones)
Wouldn't this feature be a standard?

      Thanks for responding.

Are you sure it isn't actually a  Toshiba Satellite U405-S2820 ?

Sorry but not all laptops have lighted keyboards.

Looking at the below specs for what I think is the laptop you have it doesn't say anything about a lighted keyboard.
