    BOOT UP CD

    WHEN I SET MY PUTER TO BOOT UP FROM CD ROM IT SAYS BOOT FAILURE...BUT WHEN I BOOT UP SYSTEM ( XP ) AND TRY MUSIC DISK IT WORKS FINE. IM TRING TO PUT FRESH COPY OF XP ON HD. ALSO SYSTEM ICON MISSING IN CONTROL PANEL.

      yes of couse i changed boot up in bios.
      there is always a icon called system in control panel...mine disapeared. why?

      Why? No idea.

      I would try doing a System Restore and restoring the computer to an earlier date before this problem.

        ok ..but how is that possible if it says cd boot failure?

        System Restore
        System Restore can be run within Windows.

          Try WipeDrive, i have used it and it removes EVERYTHING off the drive so you can install a new OS and start over new

          This is useless advice since BILLYB1 can't get Windows XP CD working.

          Does this CD have shiny holograms and say Microsoft all over it ? ?

            IVE USED THIS XP CD MANY TIMES SO IT WORKS FINE....
            WHEN I BOOT UP SYSTEM IT DOESNT RECONIZE THE CD ROM ...I WENT INTO BIOS SETTING AND SET IT UP TO BOOT FROM CD AND IT DOESNT RECONIZE IT.
