    maximizing windows
    « on: July 14, 2008, 11:11:16 AM »
I have seen a few posts over the last while about how to maximize pages in windows.  I asked this question myself & none of the tips ever worked.  I found a nifty utility that seems to work very well.  Just thought I'd share it with everyone.  Sorry I couldn't find the last thread on this topic.

Well, for most programs, you can just click the Maximize button or double click the title bar.  So, I think you need to be more clear on the reason for your post. Are you talking about certain windows that are designed to only appear in small-sized panels and have not maximize button?  Can you give an example?

Going to move this topic to the review section since its a discussion about a software product. I'd like to also have some additional details on it though. :) I'd imagine though for those users who're encountering issues with a program not saving its last size this could be useful. For example, a program that will not open maximized each time it's opened.

Sorry I wasn't too clear & posted in the wrong place...and yes I realize you can click the Maximize button or double click the title bar.  There have been previous posts asking how to have a window open maximized each time it is opened (myself included).  All the previous suggestions did NOT work for me or any other post I have read. Just was trying to help.

I think its helpful szpixman, did you happen to try this program and enjoy it and/or have it work? What were your thoughts on it?

CMDOW does this from the command line, as does START /MAX xyz.exe

I have been running it for about a week with no strange side effects & it seems to work fine.  Although I do not let it run at startup as I have a lot of programs that already do.  I find it quite useful & simple to use.
        Thanks.

Now, I don't understand. If you don't run it as a startup, it can't control, which programs should be maximized, which not.

I just click the quickstart icon after I start up.  I don't do tons of surfing on the internet & just have the ones of visit frequently added to the programs list.
