    Please help

    I have windows Vista, and my internet explorer and Firefox can not get to the Internet. My wireless connection is strong and my neighbors laptop can connect. I have tried to fix this for a few days. Please help.

    Go Start, and in "Start search" type in:
    cmd
    Hit Enter.

    At Command Prompt, type in:
    ping www.google.com
    Hit Enter.

    Post results.

    Also, do you have Zone Alarm?

      I typed in what you said an it went to th error page for explorer.
      I don't know what a zone alarm is

        Is it laptop, or desktop?
        Did you try to hardwire your computer straight to the modem?
        Are you sure, wireless card switch is on?

          If Win Vista look at the task bar at bottom of monitor next to the speaker icon. See if there is 2 small tv monitors there if so see if they are blinking and have a  small blue disk on top. If not you are not connecting.
          Could be your internet lan card. Are you DSL or what?
