Antivirus can't detect some virus?

my computer is in problem right now. there are a lot of error comes.

here are some of the problems:

in startup:

- sometimes, my computer get an error message in loading startup. then my computer will not run normally. then i need to restart.

- sometimes, in the middle of my work, an error will appears. then again it will not run properly and so on

- and the worst of it. i cant connect to the internet. if im not mistaken, i think it is because there are stuff that AVG cant detect/notice it.

do i have to change ativirus?


please anyone help me with this

im using XP pro SP3, and AVG 8.

It could actually be AVG that's causing the problems.  But just to make sure, follow the instructions in the link posted by drmsucks.

I think avg is not good, u can use avast antivirus, im sure this is better 4u. and if u hav problem of error, plz run ur window in safe mode. restart ur computer and press 8 many times.
