    2 modems 1 house
    « on: August 13, 2008, 01:07:58 PM »
    Hi,
is it possible to have 2 modems in 1 house, because I've put my modem upstairs so that my computer doesn't have poor connection, but it's effected everything downstairs (the WII, the computer, Xbox 360)

This is the modem I have at the moment

    Thanks

To use two modems, you have to have two separate accounts with your ISP.

Personally, I can't answer your question, because I've never used one.

Truthfully, it depends on what type of wireless you are running.  Is it B, G, N?  it will say on your wireless router.  How old is the router?  If its quite old, sometimes its actually cheaper and more efficient to just buy a newer, better router.

Im sorry i should have made that a little clearer.  But, from what you are saying, it is probably wireless G.  But, i had asked a few people about the range expanders, and they said it works like a charm.  Give that a shot, it should defenitely give you a much better range :)
