Helpmeh, that's just one topic, and it's system already works.

There really is no need to bring back the unrestricted editing system.
Well, I'd just hate to be in Broni's shoes...every time he needs to change something (anything) he has to PM a mod, wait for them to come on, wait for them to check their messages, and wait for them to change it.

You realize you are suggesting a forum wide change to make maintaining a single thread easier.

I think the name of the "Virus and spyware removal" forum needs to be changed to something fairly different to the "Computer viruses and spyware" forum, or vice versa. A lot of people are still posting logs in the parent forum.

Is there any way to add a rules blurb like in PHPbb3? You can add a rules list above the actual forum.

That's a malware fighter issue. (hint hint)

I'll create a new topic for this that the community can put it to a vote. My best though would be maybe renaming the main board to "Computer security and malware" now that we have a virus and malware removal section.

Could you make a slight adjustment to the sidebar, Nathan?

If I may use your profile as an example:

Could you not distribute the icons across the two rows? The Twitter icon looks lonely.

I think they auto-distribute if there isn't enough space, but I do think more of the should be allowed to position on the top line.

Yeah that's something that could be done. Although do we want all the icons on a single row to allow them to auto arrange depending on space available?

Oh I just realized they auto-distribute. I guess it doesn't matter. :p

I apologize if this has already been suggested (I don't exactly have time to go through 57 pages of posts right now), but I think a formatting option for nesting output in a code section could be handy.

Code: [Select]
public class HelloWorld
{
     public static void main(String [] args)
     {
           System.out.println("Hello world!");
     }
}

Code: [Select]
Hello world!
^ That just seems a bit sloppy to me.

Again, sorry if this has already been suggested.

Do you mean a new toolbar button? If so, there already is one (second from the right).

I think you mean though the difficulty of having proper tabs/indents with code blocks. Not much can be done about  that, after all the editor is for editing posts- it's not a code IDE. I usually just copy paste from another program if the length is anything more then trivial.

There are forum mods for "formatting" in the sense of syntax colouring, but I don't think demand is really that high for it.

EDIT:

Oh wait, I see what you mean, nested code bbcodes. problem is everything inside a code bbcode is treated essentially as preformatted text, so even a nested code bbcode would appear:

Code: [Select]
this is a nested code section:
[code]nested area
[/code]

The parsing is pretty simple, it just takes from the starting tag to the first closing tag, with no regard for any nested code tags in between.

As always appreciate the suggestion. As far as I'm aware you're the first person to make the suggestion. I can add it to the list of things to do but because of the low demand for it, it's likely it wouldn't get done or if it did, it would get done several years down the road.  :-\

Is there other ways you can change the to do list in which it will make more user friendly?
