This is a long description but I was trying to give the best one for my problem.
I just got a base model Dell desktop with a Celeron 2400 processor / 512MB / CD rom drive. I bought a Memorex 16X DVD Double-Layer Recorder and a Creative Soundblaster Live 24 bit sound card from Best Buy. I first installed the DVD drive and the Memorex software. It played DVD's and Burned CD's fine. The sound was coming out fine through built in soundcard. I disabled the built in card from Window's Device Manager. Then I installed the Soundblaster card and software. It works great when I play Audio CD's from the other CD-ROM drive and the sound quailtiy is much higher in my opinion. When I insert a DVD and try and watch a movie, the movie stars with a lot of sound poping out of the speakers and then the movie program (NERO Showtime) locks up.
Any advice?
