Let's hope that's all it is...since a replacement PSU would be your cheapest alternative.

Please, keep us posted...

Be sure to get the same kind of battery. There is a model number on the battery.

There is? When did they start doing that?  :)

Isn't there a model number on the battery? ???

I thought of that, the others only have a 250W Power Supply.
Make sure that is large enough for the computer in question.
If you don't have time to do it right
...when will you have time to do it over?

      Hello.

Got a new 550 PSU ATX

Got Power, but now it is going to "Start Windows Normal" screen.
But my keyboard does not work, and after it times out, it just reboots again and again.

      Any ideas?

Ok I changed my CMOS BIOS to BOOT CD-ROM only.

Now it has booted, and Did the "R" to repair my windows.

          Hopefully this will do it.

Thank you all again for your help

The problem is either your memory or hard drive.is the clock set at right time in your bios?

              Hello.

              Thank you for your response.

No my BIOS time was wrong, i was told to remove the CMOS battery, that may have reset it. Does this have to correct date/time?

After I load my XP CD

I pick "R" for recovery console (I have already done a "Repair" , no luck)

I can get to C: in the Recovery Console.

              I can see my files/folders.

I tried deleting and creating a new boot.ini

              I tried fixboot

So... it could be my memory then? Any way to know for sure?

Very, I have not backed up my work in a couple months. --Like a moron--

If a simple fix to this would be buying another HDD and making my old a Slave...?
How does Slave/Master work on SATA drives?

All I did was change the Power Supply and Take-out/Put-In CMOS battery , is this normal to not be able to boot?

no, this is PBLM should not have happened from what you did. When you go into bios did you set the bios to default or best known config? You can add another HD and use the other as a slave. You can use a ide if you can?Have you tested the system by using 1 stick of ram ,cpu,v card, mouse 7 keyboard.leaving the other devices not hooked up?

I have been useing 2 RAm sticks , cpu, video card, keyboard

I guess I will try removing a stick of ram.

Can I hvae an IDE Harddrive as the Master, and make my SATA drive the slave?
