I was checking some of my stuff when I noticed there was something in the bin so I went to empty it an it came up with a folder called windows.  So I looked in it an there was nothing inside so I tried to put the file back an then empty the bin but the file is still there.

no thats the thing there is no folder sent by me to the bin called "windows" there is a folder seen by the bin called windows which I cant see acess or restore.  I think this ties in why stand by is working.

if you can't see it, how do you know it's there?

Have you tried enabling the display of hidden files?

no but when I tried to right click an empty that what it said was in there.

It's not thats the thing.  I have installed this os to the max an installed everything I had put on there at one point before I know my way around.

has it ever occured to you that perhaps you deleted a folder named Windows at some point? Is it still in the recycle bin?

no cause I no what I delete an what I dont

He means that nothing is listed in the recycle bin, but on the desktop it has papers in it like it has something in it.
If he tries to empty it, the window comes up says hes trying to delete WINDOWS. no? 

Ive had this before.. went away on it own..
