After antivirus 2008, now contentwatch installation error
    « on: September 24, 2008, 05:16:39 AM »
At work a guy had spydoctor to get rid of Antivirus 2008. It didn't work so he had to do it manually. I had Net Nanny (a monitoring/filter program) on the system but I removed program because it was interfering. The virus appears to be gone, but I get a "contentwatch installation error" when I boot up computer and I have no internet access. Contentwatch was the name of part of Net Nanny's program. I removed Net Nanny, did a search for files containing contentwatch, deleted those. It still keeps coming up. On the bottom toolbars, it will show the picture for AVG(my virus program) and show the error, it will show the picture for Messanger and show the error. So I'm wondering is this really an error or is this still some sort of trojan mimmicking false errors. I did see somewhere with people getting this error though and not having internet access, and that is what I have. I have windows XP home edition. Does this make sense? Any ideas or someplace I can start? Also how to I get to my user configuration?

I've read through it and I'll do what I can, but I don't have internet access at this time. What would you like to see?

If you don't have Internet access at the moment, download the HijackThis Tool (step 6) and copy it to the damaged computer with a flash drive and give us a HijackThis Log.

      ;)

I read this forum and went through the suggested steps.  Here are the logs requested. I am not sure the malware is complete as the computer froze up flashing content watch errors while trying to quarantine the threats, I rebooted and this was what was left in the quarantine
      thanks for the help
