At work a guy had spydoctor to get rid of Antivirus 2008. It didn't work so he had to do it manually. I had Net Nanny (a monitoring/filter program) on the system but I removed program because it was interfering. The virus appears to be gone, but I get a "contentwatch installation error" when I boot up computer and I have no internet access. Contentwatch was the name of part of Net Nanny's program. I removed Net Nanny, did a search for files containing contentwatch, deleted those. It still keeps coming up. On the bottom toolbars, it will show the picture for AVG(my virus program) and show the error, it will show the picture for Messanger and show the error. So I'm wondering is this really an error or is this still some sort of trojan mimmicking false errors. I did see somewhere with people getting this error though and not having internet access, and that is what I have. I have windows XP home edition. Does this make sense? Any ideas or someplace I can start? Also how to I get to my user configuration?
