remote enable of disabled network connection
« on: September 25, 2008, 03:08:29 PM »
My question is: how hard would it be?
I have a closed network and need a temporary internet connection to download virus defs for about 5 minutes. I'm considering plugging the second nic of a server into the internet and having a batch file enable and disable the connection (with ipconfig) to do the download. My first thoughts are that it would be pretty tough to remotely enable (or otherwise hack) a disabled connection, but wanted to hear from another source.
