    Right Click Option Problems
    « on: September 25, 2008, 05:12:24 PM »
Hello, I am having a problem and... I can't figure it out on my own... Let me explain.

I am trying to delete some files and when I right click them, I get the option to either preview, edit, print, open with, and send to. I have no way to delete these files... I've tried selecting them and pressing "delete" and selecting them and hitting the delete icon on the folder window. Nothing works!

Any way I can get rid of these files?

Thank you so much for that. It worked for everything except for a few stubborn files. NOTHING except what I listed in the first post shows up under the drop down menu.

      Where are those files from?
What are the names of those files?

I have a feeling that I am going to be scolded for this, but they are Limewire files; Just parts of the program. The names are too long to be fully displayed...  :-X

No need for a scolding as you are already learning the downside right now...

        I thought so.

        Download, and install Unlocker: http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
It'll install under right click menu.

        Open Windows Explorer.
        Navigate to stubborn files

Right click on a file. Click Unlocker
        Select Delete from drop-down menu:

        Click OK.
The file will refuse to be deleted, but Unlocker will give you an option to delete on reboot:

        Click Yes.
        Restart computer.

When done, go here: http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,46313.0.html to check your computer for infection.

Very nice info. Unfortunately, It does not work for me. When I open windows explorer and find the file, when I right click the file it still looks like this:

Unlocker IS installed. A working file, for me, looks like this:

            Hmmmm.....

As a test, move everything except that one file out of the folder and try to delete that folder.
            What happens?

The same thing is happening. The full menu won't appear.
