I am not sure what you mean by task list. I presume that is not the items in Scheduled Tasks. What about the items listed in the Start Menu. Do they take up memory? There are a lot of items there that could be removed without causing any problems.

the task list is shown when you press Ctrl-Alt-Delete.

If you have the time, you could list them out as well, this could help identify programs that might be consuming a lot of resources, but aren't necessarily visible.

This problem has occurred again. I was editing this large .doc when the I pointer from the mouse disappeared. When I moved the mouse so the pointer was on the tool bars, the arrow did not appear but the position of the pointer was discernible by flickering. I was able to click on File then Exit to close Word. I was able to save the file by pressing Enter to the question about saving. I am now able to resume by re-opening Word and  loading the saved .doc. I closed Firefox so that Word was the only program operating to my knowledge.

a few of those entries are extraneous-

my laptop has lower specs then your comp- I usually only run explorer, systray, and MDM

Qttask: QuickTime. No need to run that in the background. If there is an icon in the systemtray, try to use that to close it.
I have no idea what nbj, vttmer,or musoemon are really for, so I don't know how much they are consuming in terms of resources.
