    Hi.
I have a program on a dos boot floppy and i need to print from the program via a parallel printer port. I have a HP Deskjet 720C connected.
Is there any way i can get the printer drivers onto a floppy in Dos ?
    many thanks

No worries, I just think the other link is clearer for the user.  :)

        Ok sorry.
It is actually a fortune telling piece of software that a friend wants to use for his business. you basically start the laptop with a windows boot disc with the software on it and run the software totally from the floppy. once you have gone through a few simple questions it then sends the results to a parrallel printer port. I got it working with an old dot matrix printer without having to install any drivers but it wont send the print to a HP deskjet printer.
i wondered if there is a way to install the printer drivers from the boot disc as it starts up ?
hope this is enough info and really appreciate your assistance.
        cheers

You cannot use Windows printer drivers from DOS to run a Windows-only printer, such as the HP Deskjet 720c.

ok thanks for that - live and learn !

can anyone suggest a printer that would work ? The one that did work was old and knackered, it only needs to be black print but ideally onto A4 paper not the old stuff with holes down the sides.
          many thanks for help

          Welcome to the CH forums.

Can you write output to a file then use Notepad to print the file?

One good deed is worth more than a year of good intentions.

thanks for the suggestion - the person thats going to be using the laptop can barely answer the phone let alone print to file, i need it to be as simple as possible !
            cheers

The simplest (and probably the only) answer would be to get a printer that works with DOS.
