partition magic error
« on: November 11, 2008, 12:52:21 PM »
I tried to use partition magic to merge 2 partitions on my windows PC, but every time I click the merge button, an error shows up: the first partition (C: system) requires 433250KB of data to be freed to perform the merge. The weird thing is, I did delete some files and programs from the harddisk to free some space, but that seemed to even worsen the requirement.. It started at about 233000KB, which has increased to 433250 now :S. I guess I'm doing something wrong, but I can't find out what's the problem.

never mind, I got the solution. It did actually have to do with the amount of free space on the harddisk, though it is still kinda weird, since it asked for 433.250KB and I had like 600.000KB free. anyway.. I figured there was like 800 MB in the trash on another account on the PC. I deleted that and it worked.
