That would be Quick Launch area.
Those are simply shortcuts, and most likely, they got corrupt.
You can right click on both of them, and click "Delete".
        Then, create new shortcuts.
Does IE open OK from desktop shortcut, or Start>All Programs?

The problem is that it starts on the launch area twice by itself! and causes my computer to freeze. It happens everytime i log onto the computer.
when i right click and delete, it freezes.
It has only started doing this the last 2 weeks.
I cant open anything else until i can delete these, becauses it freezes.

I don't see anything nasty in your log.
Can you post a screenshot of your taskbar?

Open HJT. Click on "Config..." button near the bottom, then "Misc tools", then "Generate StartupList log" button. Make sure, two boxes, next to it are checked.
                Post generated log.
