Skype Webcam Help!

I need help with Skype.  I was able to use my Sony Handycam Miny DV Camcorder as a webcam on my computer for a long time(via 1394 FIREWIRE).  But now skype wont even show my webcam..  I need help!!  I have also tried,
ADS AV USB Video Box
And A Dazzle AV USB Video Box.  Both dont work!!!!!

Please Help!!!!!!
Specs:
Windows XP 32bit HOME
HP a1020n
Intel pentum 4 (old)
1 gb of ram..
200gb HDD
2 1394 ports
6 usb 2.0 ports
I HAVE XP DISC

Does the webcam work with other software ?
