Windows 7 brings Microsoft to its knees
« on: May 01, 2009, 09:22:14 PM »

Desperate beta testers brought down Microsoft's Windows 7 download page yesterday for about two hours.

Only Microsoft Developer Network members and TechNet members were offered keys, but Microsoft still had to make some changes to keep the site up and running. The MSDN blog said "systems are having trouble keeping up" and thanked people for their patience.

The team of developers of Millenium were the same developers of Vista
The team of developers of Windows 7 are the same developers of XP.

        At least that's the rumour.

And no, I have no source for this information.

ME was the first computer I bought with my own money which was pre-XP. If you don't know any better it's a very good OS. Same applies to XP and one day we will be saying that about 7 (hopefully). In another 15 years just think what it's going to be like if technology grows the same as it has in the prior 15 years.

        It's evolution...

The rapid advancement in hardware is forcing the new technology. It's not all the fault of MS. They are trying to keep up just like we are.

how is it that you think such things?  I think that there both better then there predasacors.  In such like windows 3.1 was better then the dos they had.

All I can remember about Millenium were the freakin' BSODs....I think I had one the first boot out of the box.....I came close to packing PCs in completely because of ME....BSODs, one after another, for sessions on end, then stability for a couple of weeks, then just when you were getting comfortable, another punch to the groin.

WinME's issues were mostly user inflicted.

One of which was myself. lol  I just started using Windows 7 RC yesterday and have managed to generate a few 'user inflicted issues' already. But I wouldn't say "here we go again" quite yet. One problem was with my Trend Micro Internet Security Pro causing a crash. Back when I inflicted issues with ME it would have taken me 3 days to find the Trend Micro Win 7 beta download. This time it only took 2.  ;D

                            Hi,
I currently have Windows 7 on my Toshiba Laptop, it looks great and is easily a replacement for Vista, it only took 30 minutes to install, and it boots faster and is faster in use. Had a problem with wireless, but now after an update - it all works great. I will definitely purchase this OS when it is released around August 2009.

Windows 7 is a nice operating system, don't know if it' feels any faster than vista but I hear it's designed at the netbook level, so the older vista capable computers can become good windows 7 home premium (or whatever they call it) pc's!

its sadly taking a while for me cause I dont have a fast connection so its been like two days.  May have something to do tommorow or even possibly later an will try again.

Sound drivers for my realtek AC'97 is fine. I tested it on windows 7 RC 32 but. Windows 7 seem about same as win vista in general except for obvious appearance changes like the taskbar and the newer editions of windows media player, movie maker, etc. It's decent though.

A possibility you will get WIndows 7 for free when it comes out? I believe you mentioned that before.

                                    Anyways, that's pretty cool.
