    map home directory
    « on: May 02, 2009, 10:10:28 AM »
hi all, im trying to map home directory via samba which i can accomplish but is there a simple way to map it to something other than the default Z: ? i realize it can be done manually thru the net use command but im wondering if there is something simple that can be done in smb.conf to use a different drive letter for each user everytime he/she connects? the client workstation is running XP and server is Fedora Redhat.....your insight would be much appreciated!!  :D

You can't specify that on the server, because if any of the clients are already using the drive letter for another mapping it would mess things up.

Yes, absolutely you can do this.  Use a netlogon script.  See >here< for more info and examples.
