    Internet Help
    « on: May 24, 2009, 05:06:25 PM »
Hi I've been on the Virus forum all day and we cleaned my pc. However, the original problem still exsits. I can't connect to the internet on my other programs. I get internet on Opera and AIM but not IE itunes and others. I'm running Vista, anything else you need to know just ask.

What does it say when you try to connect on IE?

Try running it without any addons...

OK, so that cleaning thread isn't actually finished, since evil wanted you to get your connection back.

        1. Download HijackThis:
        http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis/download
by clicking on Download HijackThis Installer
        Install, and run it.
        Post HijackTHis log.
Do NOT attempt to fix anything!

NOTE. If you're using Vista, right click on HijackThis, and click Run as Administrator

        2. Restart to Safe Mode with Networking, and see, if you can use IE there.

Restaring to safe mode with networking didn't work.

            1. Uninstall Dell Support Center.
            Restart computer.

            2. Why there is no antivirus program present?

            3. Open Windows Explorer.
            Navigate to:
            C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
You'll see hosts file there (no extension).
Open the file in Notepad, copy everything, and paste it into your next reply.
