I've been trying to run chkdsk on my HP Pavilion dv2000 running xp twice now. I reboot, the blue screen comes up and asks me if I'd like to cancel I have 8 seconds left it ticks down to zero then it tells me chkdsk has completed and the line underneath that tells me chkdsk has been canceled?
