    motherboard and cpu

    i tried to put a motherboard and cpu from a dell optiplex gx260 with a p4, into a optiplex gx 150 that had a p3....all the lights come on but it will not power up...what am i doing wrong?

      Pentium 4 may require auxiliary power connector from PSU to motherboard.....power supply in the pentium 3 may not have the connector or it's not plugged in..

        Just see if you can find some sort of 4 pin thing that needs plugged in on the mobo.  If you cant find the 4 pin on the psu, then try to take the psu from the newer optiplex
