    colonel_sanders.... So you are looking for .......
    168 pin SD Ram .......

    Well ......I could be wrong , but I think what you have is.....  Samsung M368L6423DTL-CBO   ...... 184 pins
    512 MB-PC2100-CL 2.5 ........
    If I'm correct this Ram will not even fit the dimm socket in your pc ........

    let us know

    i know all the specs for upgrading, i was just wondering what the ram i posted was to see if it would work in my dell (the ram i posted was from a comp at my house that is out of service), but if it realy is ddr ram then it wont work in a sd ram slot, right?

      Well .....The number you posted seems to refer to ddr .......... you could count the pins .......168 = Sd Ram .......... 184 = ddr ......
      Or you could install the app that Merlin suggested or pc wizard 2005   at .... http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3846.html

      it will look at your ram and let you know exactly what it is ....it will also give you a lot og other info about your pc ....

        colonel_sanders..... The pins are the contacts that plug into the dimm socket ..they are gold plated ...dont touch them with your fingers ................   I'm a bit concerned that you do not know what the pins are .........perhaps you should be taking the stick of ram you have to someone who can identify it for you ....just so it isnt danaged by mishandling ......

          colonel_sanders.... Well that would depend on what type of ram is in the laptop.......
          Post the model number of it and we can check it for you .
