Old IBM Thinkpad
« on: August 24, 2009, 05:30:03 PM »
Recently, my child hit the System Recovery key on my old IBM Thinkpad (laptop) and now I am unable to gain access onto Windows 2000.  I am the third owner of this laptop and obviously the recovery went back to when it was password protected.  Is there anyway to by pass this so that I can gain access and enter my own password(s)?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  ???

this might help:

is this a password set by the BIOS (before windows) or after windows loads?

if it's after windows loads, you could try using "administrator" with no password as the login information.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

I wish I had 1 euro for every time I have heard or read this story, or a variant of it.
