Pressing SHIFT while turning a wheel doesn't have any effect in my Firefox.

Hmm....same version here...

In IE8, when I hold Shift, scrolling is locked.

it's related to an add-on- shift-wheel in FF safe mode changes text size.

Smeezekitty, list your add-ons/extensions.

Close Firefox. Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode). Same thing?

it's really quite simple. you look at your installed add-ons, and you list them.

"Listing" of items is done by looking at each item, and then translocating each character from that addon/extensions name to another location- Ideally in this case your next post.

Lists are often presented in a tabular format, for example:

- item 1
- item 2

you could even opt for bbcode, if you felt like it:

  • item 1
  • item 2

the world is your burrito.

Try Firefox (safe mode) first. If the problem is not there, then there is some add-on doing it.

To list your FF info...

Download FoxScan from HERE, or HERE
Double click on FoxScan.exe to start the scan.
DOS-like window will pop-up.
Press 2 for English. Press Enter.
Be patient. It'll take few minutes.
When the tool is done, it'll display:

Search completed.
Press any key to coninue...

Press any key.
Notepad window titled Rapport-FS.txt will open.
Save the file to known location, and attach it to your next reply.

Or you could take the lazy way out and just run the link broni provided.

But I think practice translocating characters never hurts.  :P

...and you're saying, same thing happens in IE8?
If so, it can't be browser problem.
