It gives super-nerds something better to do then watch re-runs of star trek or watch the star-wars movies once again or fight in the holy war between star trek and star wars fans in some sort of futile attempt to prove which is better.

    I mean seriously...

The alternative is solitaire. and the one built into windows only has 32768 different deck shuffles. Oh the humanity.

Yeah, or some sort of RPG game where you play as a fan and battle fans from the other fandom.

Computers perform repetitive tasks much better than humans:  mathematical calculations can be done much faster.  Consider, for example, computing prime numbers.

You can rub it in other people's faces that you can do something they can't!

You could also become a power-hungry & tyrannical overlord.

          No lemons, no melon
Too bad I hid a boot

          Warsaw was raw
Was it a car or a cat I saw?

          Rise to vote, sir

There is only one town in Ireland that has a palindromic name.
