    Please help!
    « on: October 17, 2009, 10:15:47 AM »
Hi, I've been having a lot of problems with my computer I had a virus that caused the Windows Pc tools and porn to popup any time I did anything.  Luckily I found this site and have been going through the steps to fix the problem so at least now I can do some things.  I know part of the problem was my AVG wasnt working and once I downloaded a newer version I was able to scan and fix some things.  ther are however 8 issues that it wont fix which are
    had "C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe (968)";"Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob.AOEC";""
    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe (920)";"Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob.AOEC";""
    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe (848)";"Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob.AOEC";""
    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe (380)";"Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob.AOEC";""

    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe (3108)";"Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob.AOEC";""

    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe (1376)";"Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob.AOEC";""

    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe (1104)";"Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob.AOEC";""

    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe (1428)";"Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob.AOEC";""

My question is what is all this stuff and how do I fix it?
I went into Add or Remove programs and there was nothing from the list on here and nothing looked different to me anyway.
I then ran ccleaner and it had some things found like cookies and history and it took care of it but I am not familiar enough with the registry to mess with it.

Then I ran into big problems, I tried using SuperAntispyware and it let me install it but when I go to open it I get a fun little box that pops up and says it has encountered a problem and needs to close.  I've tried everything to get it to work but it wont even run in safemode.  When this didn't work I tried Malwarebytes and it also let me install it after a few tries but when I try to open it nothing happens.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  I am continuing to search for advice on here and will update if anything changes but for now I'm kind of stuck.

Thanks for any help and sorry this is so long, there are just so many issues!

Hello Smiley001404, and welcome to Computer Hope Forums. My name is Superdave but you can just call me SD. I will be helping you out with your particular problem on your computer. I am working under the guidance of one of the specialist of this forum so it may take a bit longer to process your logs. Try renaming the SAS(SuperAntispyware) and MBAM (Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware) to something else and then see if they will run. Go to Program Files, select Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware and change the mbam.exe to another name such as smiley.exe . Do the same for SAS and please paste the logs in this thread if successful.

Thank you so much for helping me out with these problems I really appreciate it.  I went to Best Buy and told them what was going on and they said it was going to cost $200 to fix it which is why I started looking online to do it myself.  I'm having similar issues on my laptop so once I've got this fixed I'll be moving on to that one so in all this website is saving me at least $400!!!!

Renaming them did work so I finished following all the steps and it seems to be working so much better now.  I have attached the logs and it seems like there are some problems left. Also, I don't know enough about the registry to mess with it so that may be causing some problems.

      Thanks so much!
