TeamViewer is perfect for the job, easy insallation(or you can even run a QuickStart version without needing to install it), the connection process is fullproof, and it's free for non-comercial use. Use it all the time when my parents need a computer specialist or to set tasks for my PC back home when i'm at work

I chose TeamViewer after checking a few out.  Really is easy.  The only problem is you can't take back control after rebooting without permission from the other end.  I read of one that will allow you to do this, after disabling the login password, but it was expensive and I won't be using it enough to justify the cost.

I'm not absolutely sure but I believe LogMeIn allows reconnecting after rebooting without getting permission from the other end.  I say that because LogMeIn is designed to allow someone to remotely connect to another computer without anyone being present at that other computer.  So, it seems obvious that re-starting a session after rebooting the remote computer is the same as just initiating a new session from your end.
