    Acer Recovery CD

    my acer pc
    it doesnt work
    when i turn it on it makes this noise and shows windows xp
    than turns off and turns on again and make this noise and shows windows xp....going on and on....

    i didnt get any recovery cd from acer when i bought this pc...
    and i never created one either... :-(

    i really need a recovery cd to my pc...but i have no idea where to get one of those CD¨S
    i would appreciate your help and tips!

      i called acer but they told me i have to pay for that recovery cd,,,and i was wondering so their is no way i can do this another way?

      You can borrow an XP CD of the exact same version you have installed and try a repair installation (it is perfectly legal to do this). Boot to the CD and choose the second repair option, allowing XP to install on top of itself. All programs and settings will remain intact. You will have to go to Microsoft Update and install all updates after doing the repair.

      NOTE: You cannot use the borrowed cd to do a new or clean install - only the repair install.

        i did borrowed a XP CD from my dad and installed it on my computer and now i got things in order and it doesn't goes on and off...thanks Allan...
        but i still have to fix it and order the acer recovery cd.....
