reseller transactions

A reseller is a person or company selling a product or service they've bought from another person, company, or distributor then sells it to a customer or end-user.

Why would someone buy from a reseller?

Companies use a reseller to help simplify their ordering process. For example, a company that's building something utilizing several parts would require them to have to work with multiple companies and contacts. A reseller gives that company a single point of contact to make the order without having to contact and order from multiple locations.

What is a reseller discount?

A company that operates as a reseller and purchases large quantities of products gets a reseller discount or vendor discount. This discount allows them to purchase products at a lower price to help make a profit when selling to their customer. A reseller discount can be anywhere from 5% to 50% off the suggested retail price.

What is an authorized reseller?

Not all companies allow other companies or resellers to sell their products or get reseller discounts. An authorized reseller is a reseller who meets the companies requirements and has the right to sell another companies products.

What is the difference between a reseller and retailer?

A reseller is buying a product or service with the intention of reselling it to another person or company. A retailer buys a product with only the intention of selling it to a consumer to meet their needs.
