Low computer speaker volume.

Issue:

Low computer speaker volume.

Cause:

This issue could be caused by any of the below possibilities.

  1. Volume turned down.
  2. Speakers not correctly connected
  3. Non-amplified speakers

Solution:

Volume turned down

Ensure that the volume both on the speakers as well as within the software is properly turned up.

Speakers not correctly connected

Ensure that the speakers are connected to line out on the back of the computer (not line in). In addition, verify that the speakers are plugged in firmly; it is possible to get sound from the speakers when the connection is only partially connected to the computer. The connection must be plugged in firmly into the back of the computer.

Non-amplified speakers

To receive a high volume of sound, the speakers must be amplified, meaning that the speakers must have a power source. If your speakers do not utilize a power source such as through batteries or through the standard power outlet, consider purchasing a new pair of speakers. Speaker Buying tips can be found on our buying tips page.
