given or revoked allowing the user to look, read or write a certain
file or directory. If the account does not have the proper access
rights, you may be unable to view, read or write to a certain directory
or file. When this occurs, you would likely receive the access
denied error.
MS-DOS users can set the file access
rights by using the attrib command.
Unix, Linux, and variants of these operating system users can use
commands such as the chmod command
and chown command.
