Expect
1. A software tool for automating interactive applications such as telnet, ftp, passwd, fsck, rlogin, tip, etc. that was developed by Don Libes. Expect is a great tool for creating scripts to help test a network appliance or perform a commonly performed task in one of the programs mentioned above.

2. Term used to describe someone who's extremely knowledgeable in their field of expertise. For example, someone who has several years of experience with computers is often considered a computer expert.
