Httperf

Updated: 09/12/2023 by Computer Hope

Httperf is a tool designed to measure the performance of web servers, allowing administrators to diagnose potential problems and fix issues that adversely affect their servers' performance. Httperf helps build benchmarks, both at the micro and macro-level. It supports HTTP/1.1 and SSL (secure sockets layer) protocols and is extensible to new performance measurements.

The httperf tool is designed to generate HTTP (hypertext transfer protocol) GET requests, then monitor the response rate to determine how many were received and the speed they were received. It then builds a summary of the statistics for server administrators and others who want to view them. Accurate results can be obtained with one httperf process per computer.
