ImageShack

ImageShack is a free online image hosting services that allows anyone to save their images online. A subscription based membership is also offered; however, advertising is the main source of income for ImageShack. Started in November 2003, it has become one of the most popular sites for users to store their images. Users can store pictures of various types, including JPEG, GIF, BMP, and TIFF, and the file size must be 5MB or less.

ImageShack was considered the fourth fastest growing web company in July 2006 by Nielsen/NetRatings, and in September 2007, imageshack.us was ranked in the top 40 by Alexa. However, it dropped to a ranking of 147 in January 2012. During peak operations, ImageShack was said to have served 100,000 concurrent user requests. While the primary method of uploading pictures for online hosting was through the imageshack.us web site, a desktop application is also available to users for uploading images and is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.
